Labour & Employment law firms in Africa.

Employment contracts, industrial relations, CCMA proceedings, retrenchments and equity.

Labour and employment law across Africa reflects the tension between strong constitutional labour rights and the practical needs of employers operating in high-unemployment economies. South Africa's Labour Relations Act, the Basic Conditions of Employment Act and the Employment Equity Act create a dense regulatory environment; the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) handles the majority of unfair dismissal and unfair labour practice disputes. Nigerian labour law is governed by the Labour Act and the Trade Unions Act, with the National Industrial Court hearing employment disputes. Kenyan employment law is codified in the Employment Act, 2007. Employment equity, retrenchment processes, executive terminations and trade union engagement are the most common instruction types for employers.
